In celebration with the annual festival “Kadaugan sa Mactan” of Lapu-Lapu City, the 2nd Rampada showdown draws the Rampada crowd into a 3-hour back to back presentations participated by 14 contingents of the competition.

Rampada 2012 Champion, Barangay Buaya
It’s more fun in the Philippines but the fun is doubled here in Lapu-Lapu City,” said City Mayor Paz Radaza as she made her welcome to the crowd of the City Hall grounds.

Slated to hit the Rampada dance floor are the following contingents:

Contigents downstag

Barangay Looc
With a bit of Latin dance genre mixed with some ballroom dancing prowess, this group have shown good combinations of ballroom and Modern dance routines.

Barangay Maribago
I’m impressed with the choice of color this group had made --- red, to denote joy which perfectly blends with the Rampada theme.

Barangay Pusok
Bamboos, that’s how this contingent drew their signature on their production number.

Barangay Pajac
Running in third place, this group jump started their presentation with a little re-enactment of the history. Plus, another catch as the lights went off, sparkling lighters filled the stage as they adopted LED technology on their dance.

Barangay Babag
Twit.. Twit.. Twit.. . Birds in the forest, that’s all I can remember about Babag aside from their Metamorphosis-like presentation.

Barangay Pajo
Pajo running 2nd on the Barangay Category and 3rd on the Open Category ditched their way in with nature–themed costumes.

Reyna Bulacna, Barangay Mactan

Barangay Mactan
O’-RANG’-GEE’ colored attire suits best for this summer. Not to mention that the barangay made a couple of jumping routines.

Barangay Bankal
Black and Yellow. Black and Yellow. Black and Yellow. Wiz Khalifa would come to my mind as I remember this group of young rampadanatics.

Barangay Buaya
Packing three minor awards and placing 1st in the Barangay and Open Category, this group really deserved to be called champions. From the entrance, to the transitions of their formation, to the technique of relaying their story while dancing, up to the exit, these guys have just made an all-in-one dance package. Cheers! Grand Slam for Barangay Buaya!

Imperial Palace Waterfront Hotel
The only non-barangay contingent which bagged 2nd Place in the Open Category is the Imperial Palace. Two words --- Too Sexy!

Barangay Gun-ob
Blonded girls and guys. Hehe.. Live like in Hawaii theme. Tall headdresses for females and loose beach pajamas for guys compliment the Hawaiian theme for the group.

Barangay Busak
Same with Gub-ob, Hawaiian themed costumes plus sparkling highlights of green and peach inclusions on the pajamas highlighted barangay Busak’s performance.

Barangay Ibo
Whistles, whoot-whoot-whoot. Feel the festival atmosphere as you jive with barangay Ibo’s music intro.

Barangay Kanhulaw
Yellow Egyptian headdress for men and wing-like props definitely your choice for Arabic sort of taste.

“Everybody let’s have some fun!...” found in the lyrics of the Rampada music piece. Fun in Lapu-Lapu City is yet to strike I guess next year with a success for this year’s Rampada.
