Two weeks had already gone past but it feels like I’m still having remnants of what happened in the past weeks. Nevertheless, the VISAYAS BLOGGING SUMMIT 2011 still imprints my mind with nurturing and exciting memories. Down from the commencing of the program with some blogging icons in the blogosphere up to the closing of the whole summit with a blast of up for grabs, it was like a yesterday’s dream.

With their VBS Executive Chairman and Cebu Bloggers Society Incorporated (CBSi) Vice President, Ruben Licera Jr. and some of the members of CBSi, the envisioned event here in Cebu had come to a success.

It was only an hour after the program have started but VBS2011 have already trended in twitter which puts it on the third place on the most trending in Philippines.

As it was promised by the organizers, speakers from different niche in blogging had gathered to share their blogging prowess to new and professional bloggers. Let me name some of them;

Vernon Go, CAMMA 2011 Awardee for Personal Blogging with his talk on “Getting Steady in Blogging” which had discussed how to start a simple personal blog for newbies.

Evanjohn Mendoza, founder of Cebu Blog Camp, helping starter bloggers find their niche with his topic “Finding your Niche in the Vast Blogosphere.”

    Chris Ducker, a virtual CEO and founder of Live2Sell Group of Companies, noting every participant’s mind when he said “I see blogging at first as money!” He also discussed how a good earning blog looks like with his talk “From Blog to Business --- Getting Serious Online!”

    Brad Geiser, Co-founder of Geiser-Maclang Marketing Communications, hitting the roof of community outreach through blogging with his topic “Online content Warfare – the next wave of digital PR”

And many more like Ms. Joanne Apat,Social Media Expert; Mr. Coy Caballes, Social Manager, Globe; Max Limpag, Sunstar Writer; Ms. Janette Toral, the Internet Marketing Queen of the Philippines and Cong. Mong Palatino, an activist and legislator have been there in the event.

But wait, surprises didn’t just ended there because past eleven, the whole trade hall was beauty struck as four of Ms. Earth candidates made their way dazzling the mass crowd with their beauty.

Of course, the whole activity will loose its essence without realizing our social responsibility as a blogger. Who could have forget Ms. Gina Lopez, advocate Vice President of ABS-CBN with her advocacy talk on “Yes to Life, No to Mining in Palawan!” that had been a good eye opener to cebuano bloggers of what is happening in Palawan. She has been noted as the most moving speaker of the event in twitter posts--- even more moving I could say than Miss Earth candidates.

After an eight hour of enriching talks and working breaks, the event was capped by prizes and gift certificates courtesy of VBS2011 sponsors and partners. How I’d wish I could backtrack time.
